Direct Access Testing Available

The number of consumers who wish to become better informed about their own health is on the rise and the demand for direct access tests, those the consumer can order independent of his or her physician, has increased.

To serve these health consumers, Methodist Hospital Pathology Center now offers Test DirectTM, screening tests for certain conditions, as well as full health screening tests for men and women. Patients self-pay at the time of the tests and receive the results directly from the lab.

Tests are now available for the following health concerns:
  • Anemia: CBC, Iron & TIBC
  • Cancer: PSA, Fecal Occult Blood Test
  • Diabetes: Glucose, Hemoglobin A1c
  • Heart Disease Risk: Lipid panel
  • Infectious Disease: Acute hepatitis panel, mononucleosis
  • Pregnancy: Beta HCG, HCG Urine
  • Thyroid Disease: Thyroid panel, TSH
These informational tests are also available:
  • Informational: Blood Type & Rh
  • Drug testing: Drugs of abuse
  • Health Screen: Comprehensive metabolic panel and lipid profile
  • Men's Health Screen: Comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid profile, thyroid panel, CBC, PSA
  • Women's Health Screen: Comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid profile, thyroid panel, CBC, Iron and TIBC)

Same-day laboratory testing, 24 hours per day.
